Lift-access Backcountry Skiing

The mountains of the Elk Range and the access provided by our local ski areas combine to make Aspen/Snowmass an incredible destination for backcountry skiers.

Gain elevation with the help of the chairlifts and save your energy for huge descents or laps in the "sidecountry" terrain of the ski areas.

Aspen Expeditions professional IFMGA/AMGA trained or certified ski mountain guides have been guiding the winter backcountry around Aspen since 1976. AE has a unique relationship with the Aspen Skiing Company to access the backcountry from near the summits of the ski areas.
