Circumnavigate the Maroon Bells

In this hearty mountain trek we'll circumnavigate the Maroon Bells - some of the most beautiful and extensively photographed peaks in North America. Our journey begins with a seven-mile hike over 12,462 ft. Buckskin Pass to Snowmass Lake, where we'll camp in a gorgeous alpine setting below the imposing 14,200 ft. Snowmass Mountain.

The next day, we'll traverse over Trailrider and Frigidair passes and meander through some of the most beautiful wildflowers in the state. We'll end the day in the mountain town of Crested Butte, where we'll stay in a quaint and comfortable lodge.

After an early breakfast the next morning, we'll return to Aspen via West Maroon Pass (12,550 ft.) enjoying stunning views of North and South Maroon Bells!

Day 1 - Meet your guide at Aspen Expeditions at Aspen Highlands Village. Together we'll go through an equipment checklist and final trip preparations.
Hike up over Buckskin Pass to Snowmass Lake: Our journey begins with a seven-mile hike over 12,462 ft. Buckskin Pass to Snowmass Lake, where we'll camp in a gorgeous alpine setting below the imposing 14,200 ft. Snowmass Mountain.

Day 2 - Trailer Rider and Frigidair Passes: The next morning, we'll traverse Trailrider and Frigidair Passes, both over 12,000 feet. We'll meander among alpine tundra and some of the most beautiful wildflowers in the state, ending the day at the quaint mountain town of Crested Butte.That evening, we'll stay in a nice hotel and enjoy an excellent dinner out on the town.

Day 3 - rested Butte to Aspen: After a hearty breakfast the next morning, we'll return to Aspen via West Maroon Pass (12,550 ft.) enjoying stunning views of North and South Maroon Bells.That evening we'll celebrate with a fine dining experience in downtown Aspen!
