Norway Summit to Ski
Off-Piste Ski Touring - Lyngen Peninsula

In conjunction with our friends in Norway at the Lyngen Lodge, we are happy to bring you our latest skiing adventure. There are some places on earth that create lasting impressions on us, where contrasting colors and memories of dramatic scenery remain vivid and unforgotten, Lyngen is one of these destinations. The last ice age carved these mountains and have left us with perfectly shaped terrain that simply mesmerizes skiers into carving their lengths from the summit directly into the sea. There are many first descents still unclaimed. Enjoy a grand combination of ultimate adventure and relaxation all with an 8 day timeframe.

Our busy working lives and family committments mean that vacation time must be quality time. We take care of everything for you once you land in Tromsø, so you can simply focus on the skiing adventure ahead.

What you should Know:

Typical Itinerary

Itinerary

A typical week at Lyngen Lodge - Upon arrival at Tromsø Airport you will be greeted by your lodge host and make the 2 to 3 hour transfer to the lodge. You will typically arrive by early evening in time for welcome drinks and an evening meal by the open log fire. You will have ample time to settle into your rooms, sort gear and find your bearings around the lodge before retiring for your first nights sleep.

The following morning a large breakfast buffet will be served and subsequently lunch prepared for the mountain. Thereafter groups will be requested to attend a safety briefing regarding mountain and sea safety and embarking and disembarking systems from the boat in different situations (it's not every day you climb in and out of boats with ski boots!) After breakfast, adequate time is allocated to arrange all your equipment before your group departs to the boat, where (with your guide) you will be transported across the fjord to your chosen mountain.

Throughout the day the lodge and boat will have radio contact with your group to monitor safety and provide back up when necessary. Upon reaching your summit on skins, resting and relaxing over lunch and enjoying the great views you will ski the long descents returning eventually back to the beach or headland where collection via the Spirit of Lyngen will transport you back to the lodge for afternoon tea.

Back at the lodge we encourage you to make full use of the facilities by either relaxing in our spa with outdoor hot-tub, sauna and massage therapies or laze by the open fire and soak up the views across the fjord, read a book or watch a film before your evening meal. The following six days will be ski, relax and repeat...
