Dick Jackson

Professional IFMGA mountain guide Dick Jackson has owned and operated Aspen Expeditions/Rocky Mountain Climbing School since 1976.

As an internationally certified IFMGA/AMGA Mountain Guide in all disciplines of Rock & Ice Climbing, Ski Mountaineering, and Alpine Mountaineering, Dick guides climbs and ski trips from Colorado, the European Alps, the Himalaya, Alaska to Africa's Kilimanjaro.

Dick has climbed and skiied extensively in the Colorado Rockies, the Himalaya, Alaska, the European Alps & Africa. His first ascents include the Voie Jackson in Chamonix, France in 1976. He was on the first American summit ascent of Himulchuli, Nepal in 1984. Dick has several first technical ascents to his credit in Colorado and Chamonix, France.

Dick is also an outdoor & landscape photographer. For more see Dick Jackson Photography. He is also a USHGA certified tandem paragliding pilot & instructor and former founder of Aspen Paragliding.

When not guiding or photographing professionally Dick spends time and hangs out with his wife, Paulina Vander Noordaa and his daughter, Tashi Jackson.

Dick is currently a boardmember of the American Mountain Guides Association. He was a board member and President from 2001-2005.
