Bolivia's Cordillera Real Traverse
The Eastern and Western Cordillera cross Bolivia from north to south and are separated by the high and barren "altiplano." Our trek takes place in the Cordillera Real, which is a part of the Eastern Cordillera. Bolivia still remains in its infancy as far as adventure travel, as trekkers and climbers have been slow to discover that Bolivia holds a wealth of adventure opportunities. The route we have selected involves an almost complete north to south traverse. This high-altitude trek crosses three passes of over 16000 feet, and provides us with a diverse range of eco-systems, lush forest, high alpine valleys, picturesque lakes and snow-capped peaks. We will travel through scattered Quechua Indian villages and gain a unique insight into life on this high and wild landscape.
