Experience an exhilarating backcountry ski in the wilderness after a relaxing night in a remote back country mountain hut.

With no backcountry experience necessary our AMGA trained or certified guide can take you on one of our winter hut trip adventures. We will outfit you and prepare you for two-day or multi-day hut trip adventures.

Depending on your groups' level of fitness, we'll select from either the Braun or 10th Mountain Huts located in the White River National Forest surrounding Aspen/Snowmass, Colorado.

Sample Four Day Hut Trip -

Day 1 -Ski orientation day - Optional introductory backcountry ski day - You'll meet your AMGA ski guide at Aspen Expeditions at the base of Aspen Highlands at 8:30 am. After being outfitted appropriately, you and your ski party will head off to the appropriate ski area for lift access to the wilderness beyond the boundaries for an untracked powder ski or riding descent. This day includes introduction to alpine touring/backcountry equipment and avalanche awareness (including use of avalanche rescue equipment provided by AE).

Day 2 - Ski to hut and overnight - This day begins with a moderate ski tour to a remote mountain hut led by an Aspen Expeditions' Professional Mountain Guide. Once at the hut, your guide will welcome you in, fire up the stove, offer hors d?oeuvres and begin preparing dinner. Meanwhile you'll settle in, claim a bunk, put on your evening attire, relax and celebrate the day with friends!

Day 3 - Skiing from hut and overnight - The following morning, you'll enjoy another hearty mountain breakfast and depart the hut with your guide, spending the day touring and skiing the backcountry.

Day 4 - Return to Aspen - This morning we will take some final turns before leaving our hut for the return ski to the trailhead and transport back to Aspen.
