Amos Whiting
IFMGA Certified Mountain Guide

Amos is Aspen Expeditions' Guide Manager. Amos came to the business after working for six years in Durango, Colorado. Amos brings a diverse professional background of outdoor education, and AMGA guiding standards to Aspen Expeditions and is a key staff member in AE's growing adventure travel business.

Amos is an AMGA/IFMGA internationally certified Rock, Alpine and Ski Mountaineering Guide. He has a BA in Wilderness Leadership and Human Development from Prescott College and is a Adjunct Instructor for the college. He is also a member of the AMGA instructor pool. Amos has been a mountain guide for over twelve years and his experience both personally and professionally has ranged throughout the lower 48, Alaska and beyond. He has climbed and guided in Mexico, Canada, Peru, Europe, Thailand and Nepal.

In the winter Amos guides 'off piste' skiing, hut trips, ice climbing and teaches Level I and II AIARE Avalanche Education courses. He also guides skiing and ice climbing in Canada. In the summer he is a rock and alpine mountaineering climbing guide in Aspen, Europe and Peru and teaches AMGA Top Rope Site Manager courses. From destinations around the Colorado and North America to big mountain expeditions in the Andes, the Alps and the Himalayas, Amos brings an incredible wealth of experience and knowledge to AE!

Some personal high points in the mountains are four-day second and mostly free ascent of Lobo Este Pario VI 5.11+ A3 La Esfinge Peru. First ascent and ski descent of "Sick Iron" 55 degrees Chugach Range, Alaska. A solo ascent of the frendo Spur D+ Chamonix France.
